How to
Know God
You were created to know God in a personal way—to have a relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
How do you start a relationship with God?
START HERE
Realize you need God.
God is life, and He alone can give us eternal life.
We must realize that our good works will never be enough to earn eternal life. We've all made mistakes, and some of those mistakes are sin which separates us from God. Only God can remove our sin and give us the gift of eternal life.
"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Recognize Jesus is the way to eternal life.
The Bible says, "God showed his great love for us by sending Jesus Christ to die for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8). This is the Good News: God loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the cross. Our sins result in death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). We choose to believe Jesus is the only way to eternal life.

Repent and ask for help.
The word "repent" means to turn around and go in a new direction. Instead of going away from God, we need to run toward Him. The Bible says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved" (Romans 10:13). We ask God to forgive us and confess Jesus is Lord and Leader of our lives.

Receive Jesus into your life.
Receiving Jesus begins a relationship with God. The Bible says the Spirit lives in us and gives us life because Jesus makes us right with God (Romans 8:10). Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:39).
We receive Jesus into our lives by praying and inviting Him in.

If you want to receive Jesus today, pray this prayer:

Jesus,
I believe you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me.
I choose to turn from my mistakes and every part of my life that does not please you.
I invite you into my life. I receive your forgiveness and ask for you to be my Savior and Lord.
Please fill me with your love and teach me to live in your ways.
Thank you, Jesus! Amen
